Foolish

Last night a friend told me there was no such thing as soul mates…it was about compatibility and that God didn’t make one special person only for you. She said people often mistake chemistry and attraction for love at first sight and that there’s tons of people you could be compatible with, which is why online dating is awesome.

I believe in love at first sight.  I believe in soul mates. And I believe in the power of chocolates and flowers.  I don’t think I’ll ever experience love at first sight or will ever meet anyone who’s lived it, but it exists.  I believe in it because I believe love is a powerful thing… it pushes you to keep moving forward, fixes families and marriages, breaks hardened hearts, and teaches us how to forgive.  Love has no boundaries- it sees no color, sexual preference, race, culture, age, or time.  I’m foolish for believing I can fall deeply in love outside of a online dating database, but I think it’s more crazy to live life calculated.

It [love] always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1 Corinthians 13:7
