Boys & Girls Club of Atlanta

Listening to What Goes Around Comes Around remix

I went to the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta this week to view art work made by the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta.   Helping to raise awareness for the foundation. There were talented artists for sure… but I wish they talked more about the artists and their inspiration.

There was this amazing cheese plate in the center of the room. I love cheese!  My girlfriend and I were super excited when we saw it and spent the first 30 minutes standing nearby eating.

The block of cheese my friend is grabbing is wrapped in bacon. YUM!

White walls. No blank spaces.

A graduated member of the Boys & Girls club performing Titanium. The song choice was perfect.

“I’m bulletproof, nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away
You shoot me down but I won’t fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won’t fall
I am titanium
Cut me down
But it’s you who’ll have further to fall..”

In the zone taking selfies

My favorite piece.  Squares or triangles or both … not really sure. I just liked how they get smaller.

This organization is pretty amazing.  A young boy spoke about how he can’t imagine how his life would be without the club.  He joined when he was 6 years old and stated the club helped him to do things that he enjoyed instead of conforming to the world.  He said before the club he would play sports, not because he enjoyed it, but he thought it was something his father might like for him to do…  I was surprised to hear someone so young already know his voice and could decide what his own hobbies based on his own interests.

I remember growing up doing things because I was expected to do them like go to college and study science and math.  No adult figure in my childhood has ever asked me what I wanted for myself.

Testing out different lip shades.  I really need to find more lip color.  I only have two.. its either this shade of pink or bright ruby red.
