In Santa Ana we had a 16 course birthday dinner for our friend Sam. This was the most interesting dining experience. It was my first 16 course dinner. There was no theme to the cuisine, but instead we trusted in our chefs to make some great American plates. Watching the chefs cook your food while you drink with your friends was gooood, except I was designated driver so my glasses were pretty full all night. Food was still just as amazing.
All 16 guests are seated at the bar which is separated from the main restaurant. Prep work for the food.
Melon salad being prepared. It looks like fancy jello
Drinks all night. 2 different wines, cocktail, and a beer to go with dessert.
Up until a few hours ago I thought this was a 10 course dinner. I dont remember all the dishes and I lost 2 of the photos but 14 dishes below!
Course 1 – Melon Salad
Course 4- Beets, feta cheese, radish, rice.
Course 5- Grilled brussel sprouts. This was one of the better dishes. My friends and I call this vegetables animal style
A close up on the tootsie roll pasta
Course 7- Pasta stuffed with cheese. These grapes that were amazing. The grapes were more tasty than the pasta. Chef says the grapes were some special breed and they called them cotton candy grapes. It was super sweet.
Course 8- Tacos. Looking at the meat bleed makes me hungry again.
Course 9 – Grilled fish and cauliflower
Course 10 – Steamed corn + Grilled corn + Creamed corn + corn sause.
Course 11 -Fried brain of veal. This was the best dish.
Course 12 – Meat. I dont know what kind but who cares. I was too anxious to focus my camera. Gone in seconds.
Course 13- This was soo good… moose thingy on top of this chocolate stuff
Course 14- Fried bananananana
Sam’s birthday cake. Some how 28 means 3. We only had 24 candles and plus the number 3 we were only short 1. Asians doing math… dangerous
In the words of the baddest bitch alive Rihanna, “Cake cake cake cake.”
Welcome to year 28.
